check it out!

Hey guys! I haven't had any time to post recently, sorry! But in the mean time, check out my friends new blog, Keepin' it Classy. I really love the title! Sometimes I feel as if a persons perception of fashion is a little 'messy'? As in they are wearing all top five trends in one outfit and its not fashionable, its just a wreck. :)
please give me your feedback on her blog, or just comment on hers! Im sure she will enjoy seeing comments especially because she is new to blogging!

best beauty secrets!

Hey! Now that I am on spring break, I have time to start writing again! All this week I have been working on a series of my best beauty secrets! Starting off with, baking soda!! I know you are all wondering why I just mentioned one of the most common kitchen items in the same sentence as beauty, but it is one of my favorite tools to use! There are several uses for baking soda, but today I will just explain baking soda for beauty-specifically for your hair!

Because I use so many products in my hair, it begins to feel greasy from the build-up. No matter how many times I wash it in one day my hair is still incredibly oily! So my friend suggested to me that I should try baking soda in my hair. I thought she was crazy until after I tried it and it was amazing! And to my surprise it was incredibly easy to do! It was a simple 3 step process:

1. Put about a tablespoon (more or less depending on how much build-up is in your hair) of baking soda in a small plastic bag. Then combine a squeeze of shampoo (regular shampoo works best-like the $1.50 coconut Suave.) Just add as much as you tend to use regularly in the shower and then double it.

2. After combining both in the little baggy, make sure the amount of baking soda is greater than the shampoo- you want kind of a grainy liquid/paste mixture. Then close the bag and snip of a tiny corner of the bag with scissors. Make sure you don't spill any or it could get messy! Then hop in the shower with the mixture and wet hair thoroughly.

3. Finally, squeeze mixture out into your hand in a big glob and plaster all over your head- making sure to rub thoroughly (with fingers) to rid your scalp of all build up. Rinse and then condition and your done!
So incredibly cheap and chemical free!!

Your hair could look this shiny if you tried out the baking soda!! (okay, maybe that's an exaggeration- but seriously- try it! You will love it!)

Loved it? Hated it? If you tried it, comment and tell me about it!

my current (affordable) obsession

Since money is a little tight at times I have been searching for ways to stretch my dollar. But finding quality makeup without breaking the bank can be extremely hard to do- until now!! I have recently found e.l.f. makeup, quality makeup for 1$. Yes, that's right, I recently bought eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, face powder, and lip balm all for 1$ each!!So instead of spending 5$ or more on one tube of mascara, I bought 5 different things of makeup for 5$!! It's great for trying different shades of eyeshadow or eyeliner, as well as different products such as a body glitter stick, and clear mascara. Mistake free! If you didn't like the color of eyeshadow you bough- its okay! You only spent 1$ on it so it's cool!! Although the only con to the e.l.f. makeup is the quantity. Some products such as the eyeshadow quad and eyeliner is somewhat small in size and usually doesn't last more than a month or two-but considering the price that's not to bad!

geek chic glasses

I personally own a pair of glasses like these and I love them! Its so nerd chic! I love how its a little strange-but incredibly fierce! The prices for these little puppy's range from 12$ to 500$- but anything that matches your personal style is best! But a little f.y.i. dont go with big clunky thick-rimmed glasses or huge 1980's round glasses- they look junky not nerd chic.

P.S.- I am so glad to be back! After a month of loads of school work- I am really excited to start posting again! I was so happy to come on here and find out I still have readers even though I hadn't posted anything new!! Thanks again!
